TURNING FOUNDER-LED COMPANIES INTO MEDIA MARKET LEADERS

As most employers in New York are probably aware, beginning September 17, 2023, those that have four or more employees (located anywhere) will be subject to a new pay transparency law. While it has a big impact, the law itself is quite simple.

The federal government, as well as various states, counties, and cities, were active again in 2023, passing workplace legislation intended — for the most part — to protect employees. However, this has created new compliance obligations for employers. 

TrialKit, maker of an artificial intelligence-powered discovery platform for criminal defense attorneys, announced on Tuesday its public debut, as well as a $4.25 million fundraising round. The round was led by venture capital firm UpWest, with additional participation from 97212 Ventures, Kaedan Capital, and NYU Law’s Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Program.

The [Verify] system determines within 15 seconds if a bank account is open and valid before initiating a payment. The technology attempts to address a security concern about real-time payments, which provide almost no time to flag a suspicious transaction or spot processing mistakes, such as errors in account numbers.
